Duodenal pulsed electric field (PEF) therapy has emerged as a clinical approach for metabolic disease only very recently, with its pivotal human evidence appearing essentially in parallel with the present review.The integrated multicentre proof-of-concept analysis establishing the safety and dose-dependent metabolic effects of the technique appeared in the same 2026 volume of this journal, coinciding with the finalisation of our review, and the concept was therefore not captured in the original article.This addendum summarises duodenal PEF therapy and its early clinical evidence to complement the landscape of duodenaldirected interventions described therein.
