SGLT2 Inhibitor / Dc Cardioversion / SGLT2 inhibitors (Dapagliflozin and Empagliflozin) · Phase 4 Trial
ClinicalTrials.gov · August 20, 2026
Early or partial results. Treat as a signal, not a conclusion.
This is a registered but actively recruiting Phase 4 open-label RCT examining whether SGLT2 inhibitors reduce atrial tachyarrhythmia recurrence at 1 month after electrical cardioversion in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. No results are yet available in this registry record.
Phase 4, Interventional, Randomized, Parallel, Open label, Treatment purpose. Atrial Fibrillation, SGLT2 Inhibitor, DC Cardioversion; age from 19 Years. Intervention: SGLT2 inihibitor. Compared with: Control — No Intervention. n = 200. 1 site: South Korea.

Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
This is a registered clinical trial currently recruiting with no results posted; it represents a planned Phase 4 study addressing an understudied question about SGLT2 inhibitors and rhythm maintenance post-cardioversion.
As stated by the source record.
Quoted from the source exactly as published.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
What is missing. This record has no key findings. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07776054). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Samsung Medical Center. Recruitment status: RECRUITING. Phase: PHASE4. Study type: INTERVENTIONAL. Enrollment: 200 participants (ESTIMATED). Conditions: Atrial Fibrillation, SGLT2 Inhibitor, DC Cardioversion. Interventions: DRUG: SGLT2 inhibitors (Dapagliflozin and Empagliflozin). Primary outcome measures: Recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmia , 1 month after randomization (±1 week). Brief summary: SGLT2 inhibitors improve outcomes in heart failure across the ejection fraction spectrum, but their effect on maintenance of sinus rhythm after rhythm-control therapy is largely unknown. This prospective, single-center, open-label randomized controlled trial evaluates whether an SGLT2 inhibitor started after successful electrical cardioversion reduces recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmia at 1 month in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. 200 patients will be randomized 1:1 to receive an SGLT2 inhibitor or no SGLT2 inhibitor.
