Cardio Renal Vascular Function and Failure / T1D Heart Failure / Finerenone · Phase 2 Trial
ClinicalTrials.gov · August 10, 2026
Early or partial results. Treat as a signal, not a conclusion.
This is a registered Phase 2 trial not yet recruiting, designed to test finerenone and sotagliflozin in people with type 1 diabetes and cardio-renal complications. The study is hypothesis-generating, aiming to match disease endophenotypes to targeted drug candidates; no outcomes have been reported in this registry record.
Phase 2, Interventional, Randomized, Parallel, Open label, Treatment purpose. Type 1 Diabetes, T1D Heart Failure, Cardio-renal Vascular Function and Failure, Diabetic Chronic Kidney Disease; age from 18 Years; to 75 Years. Intervention: Finerenone; Sotagliflozin. n = 57. 2 sites: United States.

Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
No clinical impact can be assessed; this is a registered trial in recruitment phase. Results when available will inform safety and tolerability of finerenone and sotagliflozin in T1D cardio-renal disease and may guide future mechanism-targeted therapy selection.
A Phase 2 interventional trial registered but not yet recruiting, with safety and tolerability as primary outcomes in a small planned cohort; no results are posted.

Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
What is missing. This record has no key findings. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07594145). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Oregon Health and Science University. Recruitment status: NOT_YET_RECRUITING. Phase: PHASE2. Study type: INTERVENTIONAL. Enrollment: 57 participants (ESTIMATED). Conditions: Type 1 Diabetes, T1D Heart Failure, Cardio-renal Vascular Function and Failure, Diabetic Chronic Kidney Disease. Interventions: DRUG: Finerenone; DRUG: Sotagliflozin. Primary outcome measures: Markers of Renal Health [Safety and Tolerability] , 26 weeks; Markes of Cardio Health [Safety and Tolerability] , 26 weeks; Incidence of Treatment-Emergent Adverse Events [Safety and Tolerability] , 26 weeks. Brief summary: Breakthrough T1D has awarded support for a joint University of Michigan-Oregon Health \& Science University Center of Excellence (CoE) to address cardio-renal complications in T1D. The overarching hypothesis of the CoE is that individuals with T1D have unique endophenotypes determining their progression towards cardio-renal end organ damage. Defining the underlying molecular programs in T1D endophenotypes provides the rationale for testing existing or new drug candidates in mechanistic trials targeting T1D cardio-renal complications by matching endophenotypes to targeted therapies.
