Positive or negative pressure / Heart Failure, Diastolic · Interventional Study
ClinicalTrials.gov · September 11, 2026
Early or partial results. Treat as a signal, not a conclusion.
This is a terminated registry record for a small exploratory study of external body pressure interventions in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. No results are posted, and the study was stopped before completion, precluding any assessment of efficacy or safety. The record documents planned endpoints only and cannot support clinical decision-making.
Interventional, Non Randomized, Parallel, Open label, Diagnostic purpose. Heart Failure, Diastolic; age from 30 Years; accepts healthy volunteers. Intervention: Experimental: Patients with heart failure (Aim 1); Experimental: Patients with heart failure (Aim 2). Compared with: Control: Healthy Volunteers (Aim 1) — Active Comparator. n = 27. 1 site: United States.

No effect sizes, p-values, or safety data available.
No clinical guidance can be drawn from this record. The study was terminated without results, and external body pressure remains an investigational intervention with no evidence base in this population.
This is a terminated registry record with no results posted; it describes a small pilot study design without outcome data, suitable for hypothesis generation only.

Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
What is missing. This record has no key findings. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05764564). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Duke University. Recruitment status: TERMINATED. Phase: NA. Study type: INTERVENTIONAL. Enrollment: 27 participants (ACTUAL). Conditions: Heart Failure, Diastolic. Interventions: DIAGNOSTIC_TEST: Positive or negative pressure. Primary outcome measures: Change in Oxygen (O2) Consumption From Rest to 20 Watts Exercise , Day 1; Change in Cardiac Output From Rest to 0 Watts Exercise , Day 1. Brief summary: The primary objective of the study is to test the impact of positive and negative body pressure on exercise capacity, symptoms, blood volume distribution and central cardiac hemodynamics in patients with heart failure and preserved ejection fraction. Aim 1 will study healthy volunteers and heart failure patients non invasively while Aim 2 will study heart failure patients invasively (intracardiac pressures).
