Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
This record has not been graded across any dimension yet. Treat the label above as provisional and read the source.
What is missing. This record has no bottom line, key findings, reported figures, evidence dimensions. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07716956). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Alexandria University. Recruitment status: RECRUITING. Phase: NA. Study type: INTERVENTIONAL. Enrollment: 60 participants (ESTIMATED). Conditions: Septic Shock, Sepsis. Interventions: DRUG: magnesium sulfate; OTHER: standard care treatment. Primary outcome measures: Total cumulative dose of norepinephrine , Up to 60 days.; Duration of norepinephrine therapy , Up to 60 days.. Brief summary: The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the effect of targeting upper normal serum magnesium levels on norepinephrine requirements in adult patients with septic shock. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does maintaining upper normal serum magnesium levels lower the total cumulative dose and duration of norepinephrine therapy? 2. Does this approach reduce the intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay, duration of mechanical ventilation and mortality? This study will compare an intervention group to a control group to see the effect of targeting upper normal serum magnesium levels. Participants will: * Have their serum magnesium levels assessed at baseline (Day 0), at three-day intervals (Days 3, 6, 9) thereafter and on the day of norepinephrine discontinuation. * Receive individualized intravenous magnesium sulfate infusions to achieve and maintain the target serum magnesium levels. * Have their demographic data collected and be monitored closely for clinical data, vital signs, Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP), urine output and laboratory parameters.
