Introduction: Obesity represent a complex, chronic, and relapsing medical disorder. The associated global mortality and socioeconomic burden remain considerable worldwide. Innovative pharmacological interventions, such as GLP-1 receptor agonists (e.g., Tirzepatide), have fundamentally changed clinical weight management. Meanwhile, Metabolic surgery remains the most durable option for high risk patients. Consequently, healthcare systems must accept obesity as a chronic disease entity and provide insurance coverage for both medical and surgical treatments to promote equity across public healthcare.
