Interventional Study.
No findings were extractable from the material analysed.
Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
This record has not been graded across any dimension yet. Treat the label above as provisional and read the source.
What is missing. This record has no bottom line, key findings, reported figures, evidence dimensions. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07883148). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: IRCCS San Raffaele Roma. Recruitment status: COMPLETED. Phase: NA. Study type: INTERVENTIONAL. Enrollment: 52 participants (ACTUAL). Conditions: Alzheimer Disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment. Interventions: DEVICE: Transcranial pulse stimulation (TPS). Primary outcome measures: Episodic Memory Score (EMS) , Before TPS sessions, at 1-month follow-up and at 8-months follow-up. Brief summary: The goal of this study is to evaluate the effects of transcranial pulse stimulation (TPS) in modulating cognitive functions as well as structural and functional connectivity in individuals with mild cognitive impairment and early Alzheimer's disease. The main outcome measure is to confirm whether TPS may be considered as an effective treatment to improve memory in a large cohort of participants and investigating its long-term effects. Then, secondary measurements are to evaluate if TPS may induce neuronal connectivity changes and may confirm previous results exploring whether this innovative technique may induce, in a long and short-term period, possible effects on cortical atrophy and structural connectivity. An additional outcomes is to evaluate if TPS may have a positive impact on global cognitive functioning and behavioral profile.
