Observational Study.
No findings were extractable from the material analysed.
Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
This record has not been graded across any dimension yet. Treat the label above as provisional and read the source.
What is missing. This record has no bottom line, key findings, reported figures, evidence dimensions. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07858864). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Istanbul Saglik Bilimleri University. Recruitment status: RECRUITING. Study type: OBSERVATIONAL. Enrollment: 42 participants (ESTIMATED). Conditions: Obesity, Sarcopenia. Interventions: DRUG: GLP-1 receptor agonist (e.g., semaglutide, tirzepatide) - prescribed by the treating physician as standard care; the study does not assign or alter treatment.. Primary outcome measures: Change in SARC-F score and proportion of participants screening positive for sarcopenia (SARC-F ≥4) , Baseline and 3 months. Brief summary: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) and dual GLP-1/GIP agonists such as semaglutide and tirzepatide produce marked weight loss in people with obesity, with reported reductions of about 15-20%. Rapid weight loss may reduce not only fat mass but also lean body mass and skeletal muscle mass, raising concern about sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity. Evidence in non-diabetic obese individuals is limited and inconsistent. This prospective descriptive study will assess muscle mass, muscle strength, physical performance and sarcopenia risk in non-diabetic obese adults starting GLP-1 RA therapy, at baseline and at month 3, and will examine how weight loss relates to changes in body composition.
