Septic Shock / Critical Illness / Sepsis · Observational Study
ClinicalTrials.gov · August 5, 2026
Early or partial results. Treat as a signal, not a conclusion.
This is a prospective observational study registration recruiting 2500 ICU patients in Turkey to validate the SOFA-2 score for predicting 30-day mortality and to estimate Sepsis-3 prevalence. No results have been reported in this registry record; the study is currently recruiting.
Observational. Sepsis, Septic Shock, Critical Illness, Organ Dysfunction; age from 18 Years. Intervention: Primary Validation Cohort; Point Prevalence Cohort. Compared with: SOFA-2 score will be compared to existing SOFA-1 score for predictive accuracy.. n = 2,500. 1 site: Turkey (Türkiye).

As stated by the source record.
Quoted from the source exactly as published.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
What is missing. This record has no key findings. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Registry record from ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07300306). This is a study registration, not published results. Lead sponsor: Marmara University. Recruitment status: RECRUITING. Study type: OBSERVATIONAL. Enrollment: 2500 participants (ESTIMATED). Conditions: Sepsis, Septic Shock, Critical Illness, Organ Dysfunction. Primary outcome measures: 0-Day All-Cause Mortality , 30 days. Brief summary: The goal of this observational study is to validate the effectiveness of the new SOFA-2 score in predicting mortality and to determine the current frequency of sepsis in adult patients admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in Turkey. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does the SOFA-2 score accurately predict 30-day mortality in ICU patients? * What is the prevalence of Sepsis-3 and septic shock in Turkish ICUs? Researchers will compare the new SOFA-2 score to the existing SOFA-1 score to see if the new score provides better predictive accuracy for patient outcomes. Participants will not receive any experimental intervention. Researchers will collect data from routine medical care, including: * Vital signs, laboratory test results, and details of organ support (such as mechanical ventilation or dialysis) during the first 24 hours of admission. * Survival status at 30 days.
