Preprint.
No findings were extractable from the material analysed.
Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
This record has not been graded across any dimension yet. Treat the label above as provisional and read the source.
What is missing. This record has no bottom line, key findings, reported figures, evidence dimensions. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Diffusion language models can write many tokens per step, but must choose which tokens are safe to commit together. Mean-field decoding penalizes pairs of positions whose predictions look alike. We replace this proxy with the coupling itself: how much committing one token changes the model's confidence at another. Cheap probes inside the main forward pass measure it, with no training or extra model, and it plugs into the same mean-field rule. On three models and four benchmarks, our method needs far fewer steps than mean-field decoding and is faster in most settings, also with a key-value cache, at an average accuracy cost of 1.1 points. Shuffling the couplings or replacing them with a uniform bonus loses this gain.
