No findings were extractable from the material analysed.
Safety was not reported in the material analysed. Check the source before drawing any conclusion about harm.
The source did not state who this applies to in practice.
Graded across the dimensions that decide whether you should act, each from what the source actually supports. There is no single score, and where a dimension was not assessed it says so.
This record has not been graded across any dimension yet. Treat the label above as provisional and read the source.
What is missing. This record has no bottom line, key findings, reported figures, evidence dimensions. That is a gap in the analysis, not a judgement about the study.
Background: Luminal A is the most common molecular subtype of breast cancer (BC), in which the neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is less effective compared to other subtypes.we studied the surgical outcomes of upfront surgery versus the NAC preceded surgery in patients of luminal A early breast cancer (EBC) with axillary nodal involvement.Patients and Methods: It is a prospective comparative randomized study conducted in EL Demerdash Hospital that extended for about two years starting from January 2023.forty female patients with nodal positive early luminal A BC were randomly divided into two equal groups, one of which received NAC before surgery and the other proceeded directly to surgery with a follow up period of about 6 months.Data was analyzed to evaluate short-term outcomes following both strategies. Results: Post NAC clinical nodal conversion was 30% (p = 0.007), of which four patients (20%) achieved a nodal pathological complete response (NpCR).Reduction in tumor size after NAC was non-significant (p = 0.081) together with the rate of conversion to breast conservative surgery (BCS), p = 0.308.Post-operative complications were comparable between both groups, with overall morbidity of (35 %) in upfront surgery group compared to (25%) in the NAC one, p = 0.490.Conclusion: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy has a beneficial effect on nodal status of luminal A EBC patients; constituting for skipping the formal axillary lymph node dissection (ALND).Its effect on the breast mass is limited, and it doesn't reduce the breast and axillary post-operative complications to significant values.
